#25 Complete - New York City!!! 12.02.10

WOW!  What an adventure!  Andrew and I traveled to New York City from 12/2 to 12/5.   It was too short of a trip, but we saw many awesome things while we were there.  Andrew actually went a day earlier than me (for work, which is the reason we went) and he got to see the JP Morgan Chase buildings in NYC.  Here are some of the happenings of our wonderful trip!!!

Oh, and by the way, Andrew doesn't carry a camera or take any pictures so I don't have any of his experiences documented when we weren't together.  Also, my great friend, Terri, was on the trip too!  She has a totally AWESOME blog that you should check out.  www.life-with-tk.blogspot.com
This is nothing compared to her blog -- she rocks!

Hope we get to go back next year too... !  :)

The beginning of our wonderful trip!  Terri and I leave Kansas City around 3:30pm on Thursday bound for New York!  When we arrive, we head straight to Terri's friend's apartment who recently moved to the city.  (You should also check out Angela's blog at www.bohemianflavored.blogspot.com).  We went to dinner that night at Southern Hospitality (Justin Timberlake's restaurant), then met up with the boys at Abe & Arthur's bar.  After a sketchy limo ride back to the hotel, we finally rest for the night to get ready for the busy weekend!

Day two - - the boys had meetings most of the day, so the girls explored the Big Apple!  During the day, we walked MILES around the city.  We saw many beautiful decorations and cool sites.  Some of our highlights included seeing St. Patrick's Cathedral, Radio City Musical Hall, Rockefeller Center (with the awesome Christmas tree and skating-rink), and Columbus Square.  We also saw LOTS of Christmas trees and decorations.  Lunch was enjoyed at Ray's Pizza with dessert at Cafe Metro.  We did a lot of window shopping and bought cute Christmas ornaments at a craft festival we came across.  It was a great morning/afternoon!

Friday evening, we met back up with the gentlemen and walked to Times Square!  It was so cool to actually see everything in person!  We went to the M&M factory, a four-story Forever 21, saw the New Years Eve ball, and enjoyed coffee from Starbucks to warm us up!

Later Friday night, the boys went out again for "business" while I went out with Terri and Angela (Luke, Angela's boyfriend, came along too and was such a trooper)!  :)  I experienced my first Thai food at a restaurant called Spice and used chopsticks for the first time!  Only for a little bit though... who could ever eat a whole meal with those things?!  Then, I took my first ever subway ride (which was the first of MANY for the trip).  We went to Grand Central Station and enjoyed a cupcake at a little bakery.  The New York Library, Bryant Park, and drinks at Celsius were the other highlights of the wonderful night.

Saturday was another fun-filled day in NYC!  The girls started the day with some shopping (and free ferns!) while the boys slept in and recovered!  Everyone met up for lunch at Katz's, which is the first deli in the City.  Then, we enjoyed a fancy and delicious dinner at Scalini Fedeli with new friends.  The night ended with an awesome tour of the Empire State Building!  Oh, and Marc somehow ripped a HUGE hole in his pants when we got out of the cab.

Sunday morning we got up early to go to mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral.  Then, we took the subway down south, had lunch at Subway, and stood in line for an hour waiting for the ferry.  We took the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty and toured Ellis Island.  It was a great end to a wonderful trip!
