#24 Complete - "Adopt" a child for Christmas

This Christmas Andrew and I really wanted to help out a child in need.  One of my fellow teachers at school also wanted to help, so she sent an email to a program here in Gardner.  Six of the 8th grade teachers in by building donated to this wonderful cause.  Each of us took one child and bought them things on their wish list.

Andrew and I "adopted" an 11 year-old girl.  She asked for all of these things on her list, so of course I couldn't resist and had to buy all of them!  We gave her an Aqua Sand Polar Playground toy, and Easy-Bake Oven, boots, a winter coat, two CD's, and a CD player (not pictured).

It felt great to help someone in need and Andrew and I plan to continue this every year.  We will probably begin helping more children and families too.  When we delivered the gifts, the people in charge told us that 200 children in Gardner were being helped!  Wow!  Amazing that so many people are so giving during this time.  That's the true meaning behind CHRISTmas!  God bless!
